Does hermetic tarot require psychic powers?
No. Hermetic tarot does not depend on the reader "having psychic powers" in the usual sense. The hermetic view is that the world is alive with intelligence, and that this intelligence can respond, arrange, and collaborate with us in subtle ways. Most people have felt this at some point: a meaningful coincidence, a symbol that appears at the right moment, a pattern that seems to answer a question before we fully know how to ask it. In a reading, my role is to properly frame the question, select the appropriate deck or decks, choose the right spread, and bring the reading into ceremonial alignment. From there, I interpret the cards through the symbolic language of the Western hermetic tradition: tarot, Qabalah, astrology, numerology, alchemy, and ceremonial magic. The reading is not based on guessing, performance, or vague intuition. It is based on a living symbolic system and years of study in the iconography, structure, and metaphysics of the Western Mystery Tradition.
How is hermetic tarot different from psychic tarot?
Many people are familiar with psychic tarot readings, where the emphasis is placed on the personal sensitivity, intuition, mediumship, or psychic perception of the reader. Hermetic tarot works differently. There is still intuition involved, of course — any serious reader must know how to perceive nuance, recognize patterns, and interpret meaning. But hermetic tarot does not treat the reader's mind as the sole source of the answer. Instead, it approaches the reading as a structured encounter with a living symbolic order. The cards are not random decorations; they are images of spiritual principles, planetary forces, elemental patterns, numerical structures, and archetypal realities. My job is to arrange the question properly, conduct the reading with care, and interpret what appears through the language of the tradition. Put simply: psychic tarot emphasizes the personal perception of the reader, while hermetic tarot emphasizes the intelligence of the symbolic order itself.
Do you offer readings in person, by Zoom, or by phone?
Yes. I offer readings in person and by Zoom for clients who book a session. Phone readings are available for members. I do not offer text-message readings. For Zoom readings, once you book, you will receive an email asking what topics you would like to explore. I use that information to prepare — selecting the appropriate deck or decks, choosing the right layouts, and making any necessary adjustments to my reading space. If your reading has particular ritual or planetary considerations, I may let you know in advance; certain questions are better suited to certain days of the week because of planetary correspondences. For a Hermetic Praxis Reading, I will also need your natal chart information. For the reading itself, I ask that you arrive on time, be in a quiet space, and block yourself off from distractions. The more focused the container, the stronger the work.
What kinds of questions can I bring to a hermetic tarot reading?
You can bring almost any serious concern, but the strongest readings usually involve meaningful crossroads, spiritual tension, or decisions that deserve more than surface-level advice. Many of my clients come from business, real estate, creative, spiritual, or initiatic backgrounds, and are often looking for clarity around timing, alignment, strategy, relationship dynamics, or the deeper pattern behind a situation. I try to steer people away from overly gossipy questions like "Is this person thinking about me right now?" and toward stronger ones: What is the purpose of this relationship? What is the deeper pattern at work? Is this connection stabilizing, distracting, transformative, karmic, or initiatory? The better the question, the better the reading.
Can tarot help with career, business, or major life decisions?
Yes — in fact, these are some of the readings I am most often asked to do. In my own life, any major decision I make is approached through prayer, reflection, and a reading from my own trusted reader, and I have found this process deeply reliable when used with seriousness and discernment. Clients often come with questions about career transitions, business partnerships, new ventures, creative enterprises, launch timing, signing dates, and major professional choices. The reading does not replace practical judgment, legal advice, financial advice, or common sense — but it can reveal hidden dynamics, timing concerns, symbolic patterns, and the deeper spiritual logic of a situation. A good reading should not make you passive. It should make you clearer.
Do I need to understand tarot, Qabalah, astrology, or hermetic symbolism?
No. That is my job. You do not need to understand tarot, Qabalah, astrology, numerology, alchemy, or ceremonial magic to receive a meaningful reading. You only need to understand what you truly want to know. Part of my role is to translate the symbolic language of the cards into clear, useful, human language. The system may be complex, but the reading should leave you with greater clarity, not more confusion.
What happens during a Zoom reading?
We begin by reviewing the topics and questions you want to explore, and I may ask a few clarifying questions to make sure the reading is properly framed. Then we move into the reading itself; depending on the session you booked, we may use one spread or several. I interpret the cards through the hermetic tradition and help you understand what the reading suggests about the situation, the pattern, the obstacles, and the possible way forward. Afterward, we may have a prescriptive conversation about practical next steps, spiritual practices, ritual support, timing, or symbolic remedies — and in some cases I may recommend a talisman, amulet, banishing ritual, cleansing, or prayer practice. Seven days after your reading, you will receive a check-in email from me to say hello and gather feedback.
How should I prepare for a reading?
For most readings, you do not need to do anything complicated. Think about the general concern you have and book the reading; afterward, I will contact you if any special preparation is needed based on your question. For shorter readings, the only preparation required is to be in a quiet, dedicated space where you can focus without interruption. The most important thing is not that you arrive with perfect wording, but that you arrive with sincerity. We can refine the question together.
