Throughout history the Moon has represented rhythm, reflection, receptivity, and faithful transmission. Unlike the Sun, it produces no light of its own. It receives light and reflects it without distortion.

No mentor claims to be the source of wisdom. No initiate is asked to worship a teacher. Every generation simply receives what has been entrusted to it and faithfully passes it onward.
The Moon also reminds us that growth is cyclical rather than linear.
There are seasons of clarity and seasons of obscurity. There are periods of quiet preparation followed by periods of visible accomplishment. The initiate learns to cooperate with these rhythms instead of resisting them.
To become lunar is not to become passive. It is to become faithful.
